Trailblazers

TRAILBLAZER & MARINER PROGRAMS

These programs have been a part of Girl Scouts’ bold history since as early as 1934 and we are excited to see this revitalization. Girl Scout USA has brought them back and are geared for Grades 8 through 12. Once earned with Adult committee approval, girls will receive either the Trailblazer or Mariner Pin.

Girl Scout Trailblazer or Mariner Pin may wear it in place of the membership pin on the insignia tab, centered above the heart on the left side of the uniform.

TRAILBLAZER PROGRAM: Girls who are looking for an opportunity to engage deeply in high-adventure outdoor activities in a broad range of modalities, geographies, and climates. Trailblazers develop skills in diverse hiking styles, camping, orienteering methods, outdoor preparedness, and high-adventure sports.

MARINER PROGRAM: Girls who are looking for an opportunity to engage deeply in water-focused activities. As Mariners, girls develop skills in swimming, safety, rescue, kayaking, sailing, navigation and more. They take action in oceans, lakes and rivers, explore careers related to water, and learn to protect the aquatic environment.
