Service Unit Team: The su402 team is composed of volunteer members that meet several times throughout the year to share ideas, receive training, and talk about import announcements. They support and inform leaders, troops, and individual members regarding events, meetings, cookies, and much more!
Service Unit Volunteer Manager (SUVM): The service unit manager ensures that the service unit is functioning and supports new and existing volunteers. The service unit manager guides the service unit by sharing information provided by council and facilitating service unit meetings: cabinet and leaders. You will get to know your service unit manager (often called the SUM or SUVM) at your leader meetings. They’ll have the 4-1-1 on what’s going on. SUVM is the liaison between council and leaders. Training is required, gsLearn.
Bank Accounts & Finance Manager: This position maintains accurate records of all Service Unit transactions, handles any payments and bills incurred by Service Unit activities, and processes bank deposits. She/he works with new Troops/Groups to establish bank accounts, assists troops in managing their annual financial reports, and tracks all Troop/Group accounts within the Service Unit.
Cookie Manager (SUCM): This position manages, coordinates, provides troop level training, distributes materials, and supports all Cookie Program for the Service Unit. Training is involved.
Cookie Delivery Coordinator: Arranges locations, schedules, coordinates, recruits volunteers, and ensures safety for a successful delivery day for the Service Unit.
Cookie Booth Site Manager: This is the key person to communicate between Council, Cookie Manager, Booth Site Coordinators, and Troop Leaders in our Service Unit. Completes Booth Site Sale location spreadsheet for council to upload to eBudde OR arrange a sign-up/genius (for our communities only), and then enter as “My Sales” into eBudde. Approves “My Sales” booth sites through eBudde.
Cookie Booth Site Coordinator: This position contact businesses, organizes and monitors site sales, obtains permits, writes thank-you-letters to businesses.
Cookie Rewards Coordinator: Receives, inventories, sorts, notifies troops, and distributes on behalf of the Service Unit.
Fall Product Manager: Manages, coordinates, provide troop level training, distributes materials, and supports all Product Program for the Service Unit. Training is involved.
Fall Product Delivery & Rewards Coordinator: Recruit volunteers to assist sorting of both Delivery and Rewards.
Champions (formerly School Liaison): A volunteer per school or school district to be the “key” contact person for council, service unit, schools, new troops and new volunteers especially for organizing school/scout events. If a volunteer has not come forward for a school location then the volunteers from the oldest troop at the school location will be selected.
Communications: Notifies the leaders and/or volunteers of the Service Unit on future information, events, meetings, and trainings via facebook, website, and emails through gmail. Users can sign up to receive emails if they are not an avid facebook user. This position ensures the protocol, Internet etiquette, and safety of all posts.
Outdoor Coordinator: Support and mentor volunteers by planning and promoting nature-based activities and outdoor skills events within the Service Unit. This includes scheduling, or running, outdoor training modules so that leaders have the skills they need to take girls camping.
Event Manager: Supervises in partnership with other volunteers in the Service Unit to provide support, fun, and exciting opportunities for girls in our community.
Council District 1 Delegate: (14 years of age or over) Sometimes refereed to as Local Delegates these are elected representatives of their local councils, and they participate in all business sessions and actions of the National Council. Contact council regarding process for this position.
National Delegate: (14 years of age or over) A Girl Scout member who is selected to act for or represent others in their geographic area. The delegate system somewhat mirrors elected legislators who represent constituents. Nominated by peers and elected by those who are members of your Service Unit. This position represent the council every 3 years at the GSUSA National Convention. Currently the National Convention is this year 2020 visually with the next convention in 2023 in Orlando, FL. There is an application and election process for national delegates, contact council regarding process for this position.
